About the Data

EcoCheckUSA lists facilities registered with the EPA's Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) program — a public disclosure program that requires certain industrial facilities to report their releases and waste management of specific toxic chemicals each year.

What registration does NOT mean

A facility appearing here means it reported activity to TRI — it does not mean the facility is violating any law, causing harm, or operating unsafely. Many large, well-regulated facilities report to TRI as a normal part of compliance.

What's not here yet

This is a facility directory only — specific chemicals released, quantities, EPA violations, inspection history and Superfund sites are not yet included. We would rather ship an accurate directory now than a fuller picture we haven't verified.

Update schedule

TRI data is published annually by the EPA.
